About Connect a Million Minds

Before starting your application, please read the following eligibility requirements. Requests that do not meet the Connect a Million Minds criteria will not be considered.
To be eligible for Time Warner Cable's support as part of the Connect a Million Minds program, your organization must:
- Be a registered 501(c)3 organization
- Provide youth (ages 11-18) access to hands-on STEM learning opportunities in after-school settings
- Be located within TWC's footprint
Examples of Eligible Programs
The following is a list that represents the kinds of programs Time Warner Cable is looking to support through Connect a Million Minds:
- After-school science, technology, engineering and math programs
- Mentorship programs that inspire kids to pursue STEM education and careers
- STEM-related exhibits and programs at local science and technology museums
- STEM-related competitions (robotics, inventions, design)
- Science fairs
- Technology company/science lab visitation or apprenticeship programs
- STEM learning components of existing after-school programs
- Transportation costs for kids to informal STEM-related programs, events
- Contests that challenge kids to use science and technology in innovative ways
- Recognition of kids who are "STEM Heroes" and have done cool things with STEM
- Awareness for STEM-related out-of-school programs
TWC’s Footprint
As a company that strives to give back to the communities it serves, Time Warner Cable’s charitable resources are concentrated in our areas of operation. These include:
- California
- Hawaii
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Maine
- Missouri
- Nebraska
- New Hampshire
- New Jersey
- New York
- North Carolina
- Ohio
- South Carolina
- Texas
- Wisconsin
Organizations whose service area(s) is located outside of the above are currently not eligible for funding.
Time Warner Cable does not support the following:
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, national or ethnic origin or physical disability
- Political organizations, fraternal groups or social clubs that engage in any kind of political activity
- Religious organizations, unless they serve general public in significant non-denominational way
- Individuals
- Organizations whose primary service area is outside Time Warner Cable's markets
- Capital campaigns
- Private foundations
Organizations may apply for cash support, which includes grants, project support, scholarships, etc., or in-kind support, which includes free/reduced PSA airtime, video production, free/discounted services, etc.
Please note that applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
